Discover the Greatest Gift.

As the author C. S. Lewis pointed out, there’s no easy English translation of the word. It’s a deep emotional ache, a yearning for something more. A longing that no experience will satisfy, however restlessly we search.

Where does it come from, this longing, and why is it so persistent? Is it trying to tell us something, the way thirst tells us to drink, or hunger tells us to eat? Perhaps, when nothing in our lives can satisfy that longing, we’re being told that we need a radically different life. Perhaps, when nothing in this world really satisfies, we’re learning that we were made for another one.

Life Explored (LE) is a beautiful new series which helps people discover that there is indeed more to life. Over seven sessions, we explore the idea that we have been made for something - and someone - infinitely better than money, career, sex, family, or the million other things to which we give our lives.

It is our hope and prayer that this rich combination of Bible interaction, provocative discussion, and stunning short films will introduce people to the One who made us to be restless until we find our rest in Him.

Life Explored has been designed to speak powerfully to those who don’t consider themselves to be religious and have never read the Bible. But it will also provoke good discussions among followers of Christ, too.

What's Special About Life Explored?
  • Life Explored surveys the whole biblical plot line, not just a narrow slice of it. Creation, fall, redemption and new creation. No biblical literacy is assumed to help people make sense of the good news of Jesus Christ.
  • We no longer assume that the God many of our friends reject is actually the triune God revealed in Scripture. Each session clarifies a different aspect of God’s character, nature and work.
  • Because it’s more readily acknowledged in our culture than the concept of law-breaking, Life Explored explains sin using the biblical category of idolatry. Each of the opening questions helps reveal the “functional gods” of our age.
  • Nathan tells David a story to bring him to repentance in 2 Samuel 12. In the same way, each Life Explored session features short cinematic stories which help people feel the seriousness of their sin, and the wonder of God’s grace.

SMLogoAnd a final word from Tom Olyett, who is the Executive Director at There is Something More. Tom recently attended Life Explored at St Bart's Church in Bath.  Something More exists to create new ways of communicating faith in an unchanging God. So for us, journeying through such an innovative, bold and creative new way of communicating the gospel through film and discussion was an experience that filled us with joy and hope.

Something More is delighted to be in partnership on the Life Explored project to declare together to a wondering world yes, there is something more. Life Explored tells six original stories that beautifully articulate and explore our inherent longing for more.
